Lauren Young, Money Editor, Thomson Reuters
Lauren Young is the wealth editor at Thomson Reuters, where she is developing personal finance, wealth management and investing coverage for professional and consumer audiences. She previously worked as a writer at BusinessWeek from 2003 to 2009, covering all aspects of personal finance. Before joining BusinessWeek in 2003, Young had a similar beat as a senior writer at SmartMoney. She also covered mutual funds and capital markets for Dow Jones News for three years and was a frequent contributor to The Wall Street Journal. Young is a recipient of the Investment Company Institute’s Award for Excellence in Personal Finance Journalism.
Young is a 1989 honors graduate of Penn State University. She received her masters in journalism from Northwestern University in 1993. She served as the president of the Medill Club of New York City for six years and was awarded the 2003 Northwestern University Alumni Association Service Award. Young has appeared on every network morning talk show, NPR, BBC, CNN, MSNBC and numerous other media outlets. She serves on the boards of the Deadline Club, Nevus Outreach and Penn State’s Schreyer Honors College.
